Medical Director of Surgical Oncology Welcomed to Saint Mary’s
Larry McCahill, MD, was welcomed to The
Lacks Cancer Center in October 2009 as the new medical
director of Surgical Oncology. A graduate of Duke University
School of Medicine, McCahill completed his residency in General
Surgery at the University of Washington. McCahill had two
fellowships, one in Surgical Oncology at the City of Hope
National Medical Center, and the second in Surgical Oncology
Research, at the University of Washington.
Most recently, McCahill served as both associate professor of surgery at the
University of Vermont and as the director of the Gastrointestinal Multidisciplinary
Clinic from 2006-2009. He has over three dozen published manuscripts in the field
of surgical oncology. Over the course of his medical career, he has served as
the principal investigator or the co-investigator for over half a dozen studies.
